Moving back and forth in last step in history

When Control Z in CS4 is pressed repeatedly it toggles back and forth between the last two steps in history. In Lightroom, Control Z successively moves back and deletes steps in history. Is there a key combination in Lightroom that allows toggling beteween the last two steps in history? I am trying to avoid mouse clicks on the history panel as well as the longer process of right clicking the penultimate stage and using Copy History Step to Before, and then using the compare facility. It's a simple key click I am after that allows me to jump back and forth between the last two steps to compare the change quickly.

Have you tried alternating with CTRL Z and then CTRL Y?

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't tried it and it does work. It's the closest I have been able to get, though it still means moving fingers across the keyboard, I've been practising and with the fourth finger of the left hand constantly on the Ctrl key, I can toggle between Z & Y with the two index fingers. The old Photoshop Ctrl Z or an equivalent would be that bit easier still though.

Actually, I personally detest the way Photoshop works by default. All other programs are sequential. PS is the first program I ever saw that toggled it back-forth. I much prefer LR's method. It behaves like Word, Excel, PPT, Corel... which are all sequentially stepped backwards.
(I actually change that shortcut in PS now to swap Undo/Redo with Step Backwards)

Yeah, I'm with Rikk, every program I've ever used, CtrlZ back-steps sequentially. It gets me the first time I use it, each session, every time. Except for that d****ed Photoshop. Just annoying in my book. But I guess it's all in what you're used to....

Does Ctrl-Shift-Z work on Windows? Cmd-Shift-Z is redo on Mac and it's easier than reaching for the Y key.

Yes that also works on Windows machines. It is easier to reach too. Other Windows programs don't necessarily behave that way when using CTRL SHFT Z so I avoid that shortcut.

My issues arise from the fact that I must teach a variety of image editors (Adobe and Non-Adobe) and I tend to focus on shortcuts that are universal. ie. (CTRL ALT SHIFT E) works only in Adobe Products but (CTRL A-CTRL SHIFT C-CTRL V) works in every image editor. Of course I also teach PC and MAC which just complicates things more.
