My wife just downloaded the 2.2 version of Lightroom. When we try and load it it asks for the serial number of the old version. We do not know it. Where can we find it?

It should be located on the back of the CD Case for the original v2.' CD. If that is 'gone' Search for a file named Lightroom 2.' Registration.lrreg
Mine is located in C:\Users\cletus\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom

This is an XML structured file and is readable using any text editor.

We finally found it under Lightroom registration, but why does the update ask for the old serial number when it fact it "supposedly" removes the old version? Does it not see that we have that verision on our hardrive?

[/quote]Where did you find a 2.2 version. Current download version is 2.5, from Adobe. 2.2 is/was a faulty release IIRC. Do yourself a favor and upgrade immediately!

Looks like you got an upgrade version. In this case, it is asking for both your version 2.' serial number and your version 1.' serial number. If your software was purchased as a download, look at your inbox from Adobe when they gave you the Key. If you registered your software and still have problems, just call Adobe and believe me, they will immediately solve it. Otherwise, sorry but you won't get a serial number here...
