I have been using the Lightroom for accurate color capture for the purpose of environmental color sampling and analysis, with a great success. I am a color management consultant and of course do some camera profilings sometimes but as you might know it is not a really good choice because there are just too wide a variety of lighting conditions outdoors and usually camera profiling accuracy is not as good as scanner profiling or printer profiling.

I use all the color and tonal controls available in Lightroom and the resulting color accuracy is just amazing. It took about 3 months to get to current development presets.

Generally we photographers do not really need to read all the color info like RGB % and 8-bit scale (Adobe or ProPhoto..), and Lab values. But I REALLY would like to have the three vaule readings available. It helps a lot to check color control while I make through Lab and AdobeRGB values. You might not imagine how much it would help.

And also I really would like to have eye-dropper sampling radius available, because I sometimes want to check an averaged color on some area.

With the two features, the Lightroom could be an excellent tool for color accuracy jobs as well as for creative photographhy.
