Hi everyone,
I have installed mogrify and got it working ok.
I have been trying to export images suitable for hdtv 192' x 1'8'
can output with filename on which is what i want but quality is terrible have tried settings on long edge sort edge and both edge settings. i am outputting on jpeg 1''% on only seem to get a file size of about 45'kb which i believe is too small.
please can someone give me a guide to get good quality.

thanks

How large is your source (pre-output) image in pixels?

Barry, welcome to the forums.

As a trial, are you able to get acceptable output directly from Lr's export, if you leave temporarily leave Mogrify out of the equation?

Thanks for help guys.
The original capture file size was 4256 x 2848 which gave a jpg of 4.57mb
Have exported using LR and files average 4.5mb and quality seems ok on dvd.
Just need to sort this quality problem out with mogrify as i want to have file info shown.

should i wait until LR3 upgrade is available, will this feature be on it

thanks

It seems that your normal exports are full sized and the DVD player will probably scale them down to the proper PAL/NTSC resolution. The filesize of 45'Kb for a 192'x1'8' image seems OK to me.

But, how do you display the images? I assume on a TV but are you using the DVD player? If so, the downscaling of the images might cause the degraded image quality.

I've exported images in HD resolution myself (although without using LR2/Mogrify) and display them on my TV using either my PS3 or a USB stick and all displays fine.
