Lightroom Version Number
Classic 12.0.1
Operating System
  1. Windows 10
Upgraded to classic 12 from 11. After the installation upgraded catalog as requested.
Out of the 29k photos 15k are missing.
When selecting "find missing photos" progress bar runs quickly, but nothing happens.
Any recommedations appreciated

the Upgrade catalog process probably upgraded an older catalog rather than your latest one. In File Manager navigate to your latest catalog that doesn't say "-v12" on the end of the file name. Catalog files have an extension of ".lrcat". Once found, double click on it to open that catalog. LR will ask if you want to update it - go ahead. this will create a new catalog with the same name but with "-v12" tacked on the end unless you choose a different name when it asked if you want to updgrade. This is the catalog you want to use going forward. If LrC again opens the wrong catalog, set you preferences to always open this one.

The catalog that I used to upgrade had the latest date. I synchronized my parent folder in my external drive, and most of my missing photos appeared.
Now my missing photos appear to be 1300, and the total 16000 whereas before the total was 29000 so the total was counting the missing ones too.
