I run lightroom classic on macOS Monterrey i recently had a system crash and had to wipe my entire MacBook and reinstall everything. I reinstalled LRC via creative cloud and the catalog in question was moved to my iCloud storage before wiping the computer. Now when i try to get into the catalog all is shows is missing photos. not one single photo shows. There are some very special unedited photos on this catalog and i'm desperately trying to figure this out. i have the original and an uploaded catalog and nothing works. i've tried the "find missing photo" option on the collection and nothing seems to happen. any ideas?

You backed up the catalog before wiping the MacBook, but where are the picture files stored? If they were also on the MacBook drive, did you back those up as well as the catalog? I hope you are aware that your picture files are not stored inside the catalog, they are stored separately on a hard drive and are simply referenced by the catalog as needed. If they were on the same internal MacBook hard drive then they too would need to be restored from backup to the same location as they were originally stored.

yes thank you i am aware they're not stored in the catalog. it just seem the photos have vanished from everywhere and I can't find them at all

You say you “reinstalled everything”. How did you do that? Did you restore the computer from a backup?
