Missing Files

I think I have moved my catalog of almost 8,''' photos from my PC to my new iMac. Lightroom shows the correct # of photos and even the size of each photo, but I can see the photos. Instead each "photo" is just a gray box. I used Move2Mac. I tried right clicking on the folder to tab but nothing happened. I tried relinking an individual photo, and that didn't work either. Can anyone help? I have been at this all day, and I am so frustrated!

I recently spent a lot of timing moving files/folders around from drive to NAS, NAS to NAS and had similar issues.

When you say "I tried relinking an individual photo, and that didn't work either." What exactly happened when you hit the locate button?

So, tell us what exactly did you move? What steps did you take? At first glance, it seems as if you moved the catalog file, and nothing else. Did you move the preview cache? Did you move the original image files? What version of LR?

I used the instructions on Victoria's blog, the 2nd option. I think I might have just moved the calendar. What should I do now? I think I will just have Apple move the docs for me....

You moved the calendar?!? How'd the calendar get involved?

Ok, so where are you up to right now? Can you post a screenshot of the grid view and the folders panel so we can see where you are? Don't worry, we'll get you sorted.
