missing files

Is there a button to push some where in lightroom that will list only those files that are missing.

I honestly don't know the answer to this, as I have never had a missing file.

But in the future, you shouldn't get missing files, if you follow one simple rule. Don't move or rename or delete photos outside of Lightroom. Do all of this file management inside of Lightroom from now on.

That's an effective way to avoid missing files, but it does eliminate some of the most powerful file management tools on your computer (e.g. Finder, Explorer).

There's nothing inherently wrong with missing files, and nothing wrong with moving files outside of Lightroom, so long as you know you're doing it and know how to tell Lightroom what you did.

Anyway, if you right-click on any folder and choose Synchronize, you'll find a handy button for "Show Missing Photos".

There's a Missing Files plug-in on my site.
