I'm a newby. I'm been using LR for about a week without problems. But now, after importing tiffs from a CD and "developing" them, I attempted to export and noticed these photos are listed in the Library as "Missing Files." LR won't let me export them. Is there a recovery method or do a re-import and start over? The original images are on my hard drive but the "developed" ones are "Missing files."

Hi Tom

Welcome to Lightroom Forums!

It tells you the files are missing if they aren't in the same location LR expects to find them. It can't export them, as it needs access to the originals in order to do so.

In this case, if the tiffs were on a cd, and you had it set to 'reference in the existing location', and then removed the cd, it's looking for the CD.

Can you see the little question mark in the corner of the image? Click on it, and show it where to find the image now - that should sort it out for you. There's more information here: http://photoshopservices.wordpress.com/2''7/1'/'7/an-error-occurred-while-exporting/

By the way, would you mind filling in your signature when you get a moment. It helps us give more specific advise. There's instructions here and here. Thanks!
