Hey there!

Recently upgraded my A1 to an A9III and fell in love with the Sony Creative Look FL3. These "newer" (months old) creative looks get lost on import, while others (the older ones) do not. I also can't find the profile under the "camera matching" section; it only shows the older ones.

When I use Sony's software (Image Edge Desktop > Edit), I can choose them no problem.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, is there any way I can add them manually? I love to use the camera profiles as a starting point for my editing.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like the camera has been supported since Lr v7.1. Are you shooting RAW images? These are only available on RAW images (ARW). Sometimes it takes a while for Adobe to reverse engineer the camera profile. I do not know if this is the case or if Adobe has changed policy since moving to AI Adaptive Color.

Thanks a lot for your fast answer Clee

Yeah, I shoot RAW images. Interesting, I didn't know that Adobe does reverse engineer the profiles, I always thought the camera manufacturers happily hand the profiles over since LR is the industry standard. It would be a pity if they stopped adding the camera profiles.

Thanks again
Yannick

Camera profiles are part of the raw to RGB demosaicing process. Because that process is proprietary, the profiles are not interchangeable between the camera manufacturer’s raw software and Lightroom. Adobe will always have to build its own version, regardless of whether the manufacturer is willing to share or not.
