Export Metadata stripped when exporting from Lightroom

I see this has come up before but I am not clear how to resolve the problem.
I export from Lightroom and have all metadata ticked in the export box, but keywords and location data that I have entered onto the file when im Lightroom is then stripped out when I export. This is driving me nuts , can anyone tell me what the solution is please

How are you exporting? If you use the standard export dialog, make sure the Metadata section is including all Metadata, and the checkboxes labeled "Remove Person Info" and "Remove Location Info" are not checked.

Thank you , yes I have done all that and still the metadata is stripped

Specifically what metadata is being stripped? And how do you know that the metadata is not in the derivative file header and not being displayed by the app you are using to view the file?

Thank you, the metadata that is stripped is location information - city, state and country. I am sending the images to a stock library and at their end they check for keywords and location data, they have use photoshop and photomechanic and cannot see the location data

Are you sure the "Remove Location Info" checkbox is not checked?

Resetting LRC's Preferences sometimes cures strange problems. Try that.

This may be a silly question, but is the Location data showing in the Metadata panel? There was a sync bug in 13.3 that removed some manually entered location data - there's a script to recover it from a backup catalog.

Thanks - yes the location information is showing in the metadata panel when viewed on screen- and I have manually entered that data.
Can you tell me how to access the script?

Exiftool shows no location metadata is present in the attached photo (see below). So that confirms that LR is not writing that metadata on export. Suggested next steps:

1. Try @Hal P Anderson's suggestion of resetting LR's preferences:

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

2. Try making a new Export preset from scratch with these settings:

You can quickly verify whether the exported JPEG contains the location metadata by reimporting it into LR and looking in the Metadata panel.

I have now taken the above steps - including reset of preferences and new export preset
When I import the image back into Lightroom I can see the metadata - so I might have fixed this problem

Hmm, when I import your new attachment, Exiftool still doesn't show any location metadata. (I just verified that the forum software isn't stripping metadata). So I don't know what's accounting for the difference between what you see when you import it into LR and what we're seeing with the forum attachment.

Thanks John, I am indeed completely baffled by this.
I did send the image that I attached above to my stock agency and they couldn't see any metadata either.
I am at a loss now and dont have any idea as to what to do to resolve this
Does anyone have any further suggestions?

If you want to get to the bottom of this, let's do these next steps to share the photo and Export preset you're using:

1. In Library, select just the problem photo.

2. Export a catalog containing just that photo, by doing File > Export As Catalog, with these options:

3. Do Preferences > Presets > Show All Other Lightroom Presets, which will open Finder with the Lightroom settings folder selected.

4. In the Export Presets > User Presets sub-subfolder, find the .lrtemplate file corresponding to the Export preset you've been exporting with. Place a copy of that .lrtemplate file in exported catalog folder created in step 2.

5. Upload the catalog folder to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and post the sharing link here.
