Hello,
I am new to LR but there are many interresting features. Among them, metadata management.
Unfortunatey, on my home computer (the one referred to in my signature), it does not work.
First, all my pictures are signalled with an exclamation mark. When I click on it, a pop-up displays "an unknown error has occurred when metadata was written in this file" (well, actually the message is in french, so the english version is my translation and maybe not exactly the original one). This pop-up comes with 3 buttons: "Import parameter from disk", "retry export metadata", "cancel". When I push one of them (except cancel of course), I get an error message "XMP metadata write failed" (my translation again).
There are no other application running, there is enough disk space (more than 5'Gb) and it fails on all pictures.
I have uninstalled LR, deleted all prefs, reinstalled, created a new catalog limited to only one windows folder with only 16 pictures: same problem.
I've installed LR2.' on my office computer (Win XP SP2) and there the feature works fine.
What could prevent my home computer from managing XMP metadata?
