Having imported photos into Lightroom, I have been added metadata about location, etc. I have the metadata filter on as it helps locate the photos that I haven't yet updated the metadata on.
What I have noticed is that sometimes when the metadata is changed the filter drops the photos out of the selection. Even changing the selection and coming back doesn't always refresh the filter. Often it isn't until I exist LightRoom and come back in that the filter picks up the changed metadata.
This most often happens when I have selected a group of photos that have an unknown value in one of the metadata fields and I change the value in that field.
