Ack, sorry, wrong forum ...
Hi all, what a great forum!!! Thanks to you all for the most excellent info! I quickly learned how to export and use several different catalogs, although I do agree one catalog is where I'll wind up.
This question may have been answered, but I have a specific need that I don't understand how to do. Since I import from CF to camera specific folders on my laptop, by date ... such as My Photos/D7''/2''8/2''8-12-25, I would like to be able to import these images in a separate catalog on an external drive with the same file structure, preserving the original location. Sounds confusing ... but if I export the laptop images to a catalog named "laptop" then open another catalog on the external drive and import the "laptop" catalog the images are in folder called laptop.
I would like the images in My Photos/D7'' on my laptop to be added to the same folder (and respective date related subfolders), My Photos/D7'', on my external drive if possible.
Hope this make sense. Thank you for any input.
Thom
