I wanted to verify that if you merge two catalogs you will not end up with duplicate photos
 
I wanted to verify that if you merge two catalogs you will not end up with duplicate photos

When you merge two catalogs that reference the same images. Lightroom will not duplicate original image files. It will inspect each image on both catalog files and only import the images on the catalog that is not in the master. It will also inspect the develop histories of each image that exists on both catalogs. If the develop history of the dual images differ, Lightroom will create a virtual copy in the master catalog so that neither develop history is Omitted and both are preserved.
