Merging Catalogs 2.6

Hello,

I have a quamire of catalogs and I need to consolidate into one.

Is is better to start from scratch with a new catalog and import old ones or take an existing catalog and do the same?

Any thoughts?

I'd start with a clean one and import the old ones into it... that way all of your original catalogs will be untouched.

I started that way and am having some difficulties.

I want to create a top level hierarchy as you suggested in one of your articles, but the option is not available as my photos are on a separate internal drive.

How do I create this type of structure and pull info from various catalogs to it. Can you do this from a number of drives?

You'd end up with a top level hierarchy for each drive, but yes, the principle still works. If you can't get it to work, post a screenshot of your folders panel and we'll point you in the right direction.
