Merging 2 lightroom catalogs?

I have a home PC and a laptop which primarily resides at work... I've got photo's scattered on both... They each have an independent catalog.

How can I merger the laptop with the PC's catalog without losing all of the alterations and whatnot? I know how to just import the photo's but I wouldn't keep all the changes would I?

Any advice?

I guess you are saying you want to keep the image files (jpegs, raw files) where they are and just merge the catalogs?? If so open the catalog you want to keep and use the "Import from Catalog" command under the File menu. If you want to move files as well, you may better better off creating a new catalog and using the Import from Catalog dialog and moving the files in there.
