maximizing TIFF size

Hello, I hope this isn't TOO basic a question:
When I export a Lightroom image as a DNG file, the size is adequately large, but any Spot Remover changes are not saved. When I export a similarly edited image as a TIFF, the changes are saved, but the file size is much smaller.
Any advice on how I can maximize both file size while saving all changes?

How are you measuring the file size? If you don't resize on export, the image dimensions should be the same either way, though you do have the option of (lossless) compression. So the file size may be smaller, but the image size won't be.

Mark, can you reply to the point about DNG files created by Lightroom not including the spotting work?
I was under the impression that when I export a raw file as a DNG file, after I work on it in LR that all changes I have made in Lightroom are included in the DNG file.
Is that not the case?

The exported DNG should contain all the edits. Make sure that all metadata is saved out before exporting.

Also, it is critical to remember that the resulting DNG is NOT really a true DNG. It is a processed RAW file posing as a RAW file. I guess you could liken it to making a negative from a slide.

Yes, the spotting work should be in there if you export as DNG.

If you're just working on a DNG file and write out the XMP metadata, then open that DNG file with another tool, I'm not certain. I think spot removal is included in XMP, but I can't say for sure.

If it's not there when you export, perhaps ensure that the panel switch for the spot removal tool is, in fact, enabled?
