I like the glossy screen of my new macbookpro. I would like to calibrate the 15.4 inch monitor but I am not sure which screen brightness level to use (or if it even makes a difference) during the calibration process. I have a copy of spyder 2 express that I had intended to use for the calibration. Would this be adequate? I use lightroom 2.3 for most of my photo editing. Thanks!

You want to be heading for around 1''-12' for the brightness.

Thanks Victoria. I will look for this brightness setting.

I agree with Victoria on the brightness range.

To answer your other question; Spyder 2 should do a fine job at calibrating. Each device out there will calibrate differently but they all pretty much wind up at the same place. Just remember to calibrate in the same lighting conditions you will use your MacBook in when editing images.
