Please tell me if I'm being a bit silly here. I have an idea to get myself the afore mentioned machine for my "bush" computer. I intend to make a box, get a pelican case or similar big enough to house a monitor, 19" or bigger. Mount a little Mac inside along with a mouse, keyboard and associated plumbing. Maybe even an inverter to run from car battery power and a surge protector. My reason is that all the Mac books are too expensive, fragile and you really can't get a big screen to carry with them. Might even toy with dual monitors. When I go bush things get knocked around a bit(read Landrover, dust and heat) and I think this set up would be pretty rugged and well sealed. Size & weight are really not too much of an issue.I will run it at camp from a inverter Honda generator that I have used to run computers at home during thunder storms. It also keeps a supply of cooling refreshments in a fridge. I took my Mac Pro on such a trip earlier this year along with a 3'" monitor and it was just the best to be able to edit on site after a big day in the field. I did have the luxury of house at a remote location for that. Have a look at the link below. Will a Mini run LR OK?
