Luminance sliders and B&W conversions

Although color luminance sliders do what they are supposed to do for color work - i.e. bring up or tone down particular color ranges, this is often not the behavior desired for B&W conversion. For B&W conversions one often wants to emulate the spectral response of film and filters. In order to accomplish this with color luminance sliders they need to affect the overall tint of an image, not just a particular color range.

I would like to see an option where the color luminance sliders affect neutrals as well as colors within a particular range. That way it will be possible to more precisely emulate the behavior of films and filters when converting color images to B&W.

Yes, I have. They work well for simple filters. Film responses and complex filters require more complex capabilities however. I can't believe it would be very hard for Adobe to add such an option to the color luminance sliders - and it sure would be nice. Besides, they would end up with some of the best B&W conversion capabilities around. The timing would be good too - I hear that B&W is coming back in a big way these days.
