Hello,

Does the file renaming templates have any feature that that will remove spaces? For example, on import I have a template that uses Metadata to rename files with Camera-Focal Length. For my main camera, both the Camera and the Focal Length fields include spaces [for example, "55 mm" for the focal length.] I prefer not to have spaces in the file name, if possible. If there is not a way to do that in the template natively, is there a plugin that anyone knows of that can do it?

That's a plug-in by John Beardsworth. I can vouch for that.

Alternatively, using preferred File name instead of FileMaker in batch rename, might offer a simple solution.

I recently, thanks to the input of some forum members, discovered this as I wanted to remove the word enhanced after de-noise.

If it can remove a word, it should be able to remove a space as well, unless the space was introduced on renaming while importing.

Let us know how you solved your issue because I’m highly interested

Regards,

Jurry

Hello, do you mean a renaming feature outside of the recommended plug-in by John Beardsworth? The plug-in requires a few steps and then a final renaming using the built-in renaming functionality in LR, but works well once you go through it. I was hoping for the ability to use regular expressions as part of the import process in Lightroom so wouldn't require later renaming, but that wasn't possible.

Remember that on my web page I explain how to do it in Bridge, without buying my plugin and either before or after importing the photos into the catalogue.

Hi

I meant using the built in batch renaming tool in LRC.
See my post ref renaming from last week and the input received from other members.

Not 100% sure if it covers your specific issue as well. But for me it works fine
