Hi
transferring my LrC ecosystem from one to another HDD some error happened, that links between pictures and catalog were lost. Relinking, I realized that LcR cannot relink RR.dng images; . The same happened to my collections... Denoised photos, which I had exported to other HDDs as .jpgs using my collections are ok.
I had spend several week denoising 2500 photos.... LrC has now 2500 missing photos
I assume it's not worth the time and effort to bother with this kind of AI....
Bet wishes from Vienna

Did you copy the master catalog to the new system along with ALL of the images including the DNGs. Or did you reimport into a new catalog?

These instructions will insure completeness: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/

FWIW there is no AI involved here. Once DeNoise has generated a new DNG file, it is just like any other file, TIFF, JPEG or RAW.

I have to agree with Clee. There is zero reason why Lightroom Classic would not be able to ‘reconnect’ to a missing image if that image happens to be a denoised DNG. You need to give more detailed information, without jumping to conclusions.

Thanks for your help!
I had copied my pictures folder (.DNG) to the newer HDD before I "denoised" some of my older pictures (2011, 2012, 2016). I added the upgraded catalog just recently. The date of the "pictures folder" remained the same. So I thought, that everything is stored in the catalog only....
Because some error transferring the LrC ecosystem to the new HDD, I first tried to get back to a former version of the catalog. Because nothing happened, I used the last LrC-backup, which was successful. "Missing pictures" that's now the RR.DNG.only, which I cannot relink, because I can only find the "original" . DN, not the RR:DNG. Of course, it is possible that they sit somewhere else in the folder, not in the order of their number, which i did not check, yet.

Best regards from Vienna

You are right: I can find the RR.DNG in the newer "Pictures folder", which remained on the former HDD.
Its about 77,000 photos! Transferring them would take long time, with risk of errors....
What to do, without making things worse???
Best regards from Vienna

You will have to check those folders manually, and then compare this with what Lightroom says about the folders that it thinks the images should be in. There is no magic bullet here, this may be a painstaking process.

It was... Unfortunately, your message was delivered to my spam folder.... Thanks for your help!
