Lightroom Version Number
15.1
Operating System
  1. Windows 11
I updated to LrC 15.1 on my desktop PC (Win 11 latest). When editing filter Exposure and Highlights and probably other fields, I usually select the field, then use the arrow keys or number pad arrow keys to increase and decrease the numbers. It is incrementing the History window with a step for each increase, even though still highlighted. It should only increment once deselected. The keys refuse to edit the numbers at times, or jump in odd amounts, generally allowing negative but not positive increases.

I recently changed my main monitor to a 4K one form 2K, but I'm fairly sure it was fine, and the change came with LrC 15.1. It doesn't happen in the overall image editing fields, they are fine, it only happens editing filters, mostly graduated so far. Very odd. I checked my keyboard USB connections, and rebooted. I also moved LrC to my old 2K monitor (now being used a s a second monitor) but still not behaving on filters.

Latest LrC
OS Windows 11
I am experiencing the exact same problem at times - sometimes it works as expected and at times it is totally unresponsive.
Saving your work and restarting LrC usually works...

Restarting the PC or LrC doesn't work for me. It looks very much like a bug, as each single keystroke change to a field registers as as History step while the field remains live for editing and highlighted. It shouldn't become a History step until the field is closed for editing.

Hope a fix doesn't take too long,
LR is released regularly, about every 8 weeks. So we might expect to see LR 15.2 in mid-February.

Adobe hasn't yet acknowledged this as a bug and entered it into their internal tracking:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/ligh...-preview-until-enter-is-pressed/td-p/15634769

But they have acknowledged a bug that's very possibly related:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/ligh...-is-added-to-the-history-panel/idi-p/15637035

Adobe rarely indicates ahead of time when/if a bug will be fixed.

Sometimes more often - for example15.0.1.

Yes, I was referring to the main dot releases (15.0, 15.1, etc.) The patch releases such as 15.0.1 are only for fixing things Adobe considers urgent (and Adobe doesn't consider most bugs urgent).

I guess they consider these "urgent" - 15.0.1

So the latest LrC 15.1.1 has been released. I'm reluctant to try it. Anyone established if this fixes the masking panel values bug?
I'm on 15.1.1 and it's working fine for both global adjustments and within masks. It increases or decreases with each arrow press but only writes a single history entry when the field loses focus.

However, I'm on a Mac so not sure if this bug was fixed or whether it just never affected the Mac version. Maybe someone on Windows will give it a try just to be sure.

There is no harm in updating even if the bug you refer to is not included in the fixes. There may be security patches that are included.

Well there is, I'm sticking to 15.01 on my desktop as the masking behaviour is very annoying. I'll try it on my laptop later to see if they've fixed it silently

I was able to test this morning using a friend's Windows 11 machine and it works fine on 15.1.1. I didn't bother to take the time to roll back to 15.1 to verify it was reproducible on that version.

Thanks, just tried 15.1.1 on my W11 laptop as I don't do much editing on that, seems fine now (wasn't before on 15.1). Annoying that Adobe don't mention this fix in the release notes! I'll try it on my desktop later.

Thank - just tried it on my PC and I confirm that this issue is fixed. Wonder if Adobe actually realizes that it's fixed.

Fine on my desktop W11 PC too. No mention in the release notes, but I guess they fix a load of minor bugs like this, and only mention the more serious ones. Good that it's fixed anyway.

I don't think so, since it's still listed an "open" bug
