LRC 14 didn't fix Memory Leak/Crashing issues...I was ever hopeful that 14 might tackle the memory leak/stability issue. But alas it did not. CPU usage at 135%, Memory at 42GB. MacBook Pro M1Pro, 16GB RAM and enough HD space to program the space shuttle. LRC is (has?) taken 45 minutes to import 60Jpegs from the desktop. and is once again not responding and a Force Quit will be required. This has been going one for well over a year and its no longer workable. Adobe (& Apple) have been sent crash reports and NO solution is available. Re-installed LRC to many times to count and EVERYTHING else works perfectly.

Capture 1 is lightening fast.....I guess that is my only option now.

It's been reported elsewhere that resetting preferences to default values fixed the problem, it least in that one instance. However, if you reinstalled as suggested by Victoria above, that should have reset the defaults. Maybe it just pulled up the old values from somewhere. Resetting preferences might be worth a try.

Preferences survive an install/uninstall/reinstall. Unless you reformat the hard drive it is safe to assume that if you haven't reset the preferences, they are not reset…

Thanks Jim. I've tired cameras hardwired direct to the Mac from my Fuji XT1, XT5 and X100VI. I've tried copying them to a folder on my desktop first. I've tried using Iridient and Fuji Raw Studio to convert the Raw files first. Just using the SD card both on th emac and through a 3rd party hub incase it was the card reader. I've split the folders into Jpeg and RAW and import separately. To ensure its NOT a problem with Fuji files (which I suspected when this started 16+ months ago) I tried some Canon files, both new (borrowed a friends R3) and old that I had taken before the jump to Fuji and all of these didn't change a thing.

Thanks Bob. After trying Victoria's suggestion I did ensure all factory defaults were in place. and it didn't work.

I

Morning Rikk, I haven't tried this yet as it seems such an extreme leap for a laptop that I use for work (which pays the bills) and everything else and have no issues with anything else. So far the least frustrating and least amount of work was buying/loading and then sorting the Collections into alphbetical order in Capture 1.

Its said statement on the state of Adobe software and their lack of effort to fix it. More searches on line show its a Windows and Mac issue and on much more powerful machine then I have (end of rant!)

Thanks!!

I think you are overestimating the 'extremity of this leap'. This is a simple and quick procedure that can fix many instances of weirdness. The upside is you are fixed. The downside is you might have to spend five minutes reconfiguring your UI to match what it was before. Or, the results may be in between. Until you try it, you won't know.

An alternative to deleting Preferences is to simply move or rename the current file. If the new preferences fixes the problem then you just need to reconfigure your UI to match what you had before. If a new Preferences does not solve your problem then replace the new preferences file with the old one and you are back where you were before. No risk involved.
