New to me, I can easily see ALT or CTL +Click on Sharpening Masking, but cannot see anything with same on DETAIL. Screen and preview are gray. This is brand new with this update and on both Mac and Windows.

Same for you?

Also a reminder that a backup strategy is only as good as its last successful restore ;-)

As an example, decades ago, I worked for a DB company. A large US bank used out DB and it's backup utilities. They had a catostraphic system failed but when they went to restore the DB, the restore utilities would not work. They had never tested it. As an insult to injury my company new the fact you could never restore but never fixed it or told the customers.
In my career we changed proprietary backup systems often. Nevertheless, when needed, they invariably failed. It was a case of either the media, floppies, tapes etc., or software no longer being supported or no longer supported by the OS. For this reason, for myself, I chose a backup system that supposedly creates a simple mirror of the data. It should require nothing more than Explorer to recover data. That said, it hasn't been tested, fingers crossed :)

You raised a good point. A backup isn't worth doing if you aren't confident it will work when you need it. Hope isn't a good recovery strategy. Test your recovery mechanism periodically

Everyone should have a scheduled test on a regular basis. I have two Time Machine Backups and a Back blaze backup. It does not help to be in a panic trying to figure out how to run the recovery process. Hat are you doing wasting time on the Lightroom Queen when you could be testing your recovery process? ;-)

While I have never had to recently recover a completed disk, I do regularly pick a random (but critical) file and recover it from my Time Machine backups and from BackBlaze. About 7 years ago, my primer disks on my iMac died. The Apple gurus replaced the disk with a new one and installed the basic MacOS. I was able to use my TimeMachine backup to restore all of my critical apps, settings and files.
I’ve had NAS controllers fail making my proprietary NAS drive unreadable and of course that was at the time my primary backup

A number of years, I upgraded my MACos on my old 2009 Macbook. Performance came to a crawl (sorry can't remember the version). Found out I had hit a known bug on my hardware. I used Timemachine to restore to the previous version. Very impressed and one contributing factor in moving from Windows to MAC

Today’s update is an emergency bug fix only. It fixes a few bugs that were recently discovered and had a lot of impact, so they needed a quick fix.
