I spent literally all day Saturday with Adobe remote controlling my machine to try and get LRC to open. At first it was stuck on the splash screen "Reading Preferences" then it just stopped doing anything all together. We gave up around 9pm Saturday. Decided to call Apple as I had discovered my Ethernet port stopped working. Even though im outside my return window Apple said they would send a new machine but that would be mid September... Before I take into to apple for repair I figured I would see if anyone here has had this experience with the Studio Ultra, mine is maxed out minus ssd which i got the 2tb. I feel like a clean OS instal is my next move but just got this machine right where i wanted it after a couple months so it feels daunting. I will say before this issue the Mac Studio Ultra was just screaming through LRC like a dream. I have a very large catalog and with my iMac Pro it would take a couple seconds to render previews per image. I typically shoot approx 5k images a shoot so it takes forever to do post. With the Ultra previews are instant and I can work as fast as my human limits. Hope all the above helps inform people the good and the bad. Thanks

Not a Mac person but before you go down complex paths like reinstalling your OS, try deleting your LrC preferences file. A corrupted preferences file has been known to cause all sorts of odd and unpredictable behaviour. See https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/
I should have mentioned I did that, or attempted to do that. LRC wouldn't allow me to reset preferences, did a manual delete as well. We did about everything that could be done. Im actually doing a clean instal of mac os x as we speak, wish me luck.

Before you reinstall Mac OS:

- Update to LR 11.4, which was released yesterday.

- If that doesn't help, grant LR Full Disk Access:

Apple changed something in its draconian security rules recently, and LR 11.3.1 could act very, very strangely in all sorts of ways until you granted it Full Disk Access. I'm hoping that Adobe figured out how to configure the LR 11.4 installer properly to avoid this, but I haven't seen any reports either way yet.

I had that enabled. Ended up wiping creative cloud from my mac studio, did a time machine backup, then clean instal of mac os x, time machine import, reinstalled creative cloud and LRC 11.4 and IM BACK IN BUSINESS! Pain in the you know what but just thankful to have my machine back up and running at full speed!
