LR3beta would not import RAWs after the first time

Hello,

I use Canon thus work with CR2 files.
Yesterday I was retouching pictures from a recent photoshoot in Lightroom 3 Beta. All was good, saved the photos (exported full sized JPGs and created XMPs).
Later on I decided to change a few photos. Obviously went back to open RAWs (CR2s) but for some reason, Lightroom would not import them anymore (neither JPGs nor CR2s). The Import button is unclickable and the only option I have is to hit Cancel. While my older version of Lightroom opens files without any problems, I need to use new tools that were presented in LR3.

It started happening just yesterday, because I tried opening other files from older photoshoots and it opened them OK, so there must be something wrong with the resent files. I just don't know what to check.

Any ideas?

If you didn't remove the raw files from LR after your first session, then there is no need to import them again...they are still there. This probably explains why the Import button is unclickable as it appears that LR3 will not let you re-import the same pictures from within the same folder if they already exist in the catalog.....even if Don't Import Suspected Duplicates is unchecked. That's certainly the way it works on my test LR3 system during a (brief) test.

You should be able to import the jpegs, but you probably need to check your general preferences to make sure that the option to 'Treat JPEG files next to Raw files as seperate photos' is unchecked.

edit: That should be 'checked' of course, not 'unchecked'. :-[
