LR2 wont open to edit in PS

I've done some searching on the web for this and have come across no solution. For some reason my photos wont open to edit in photoshop (i generally work from canon (4'D) RAW files).

two things:
1. can it be sorted?
2. how can i export the .xmp files automatically so when i open files in bridge the lightroom settings are there?

(sorting number 1 would really be preferable)

Welcome Charlie and thanks for filling in your signature!!
Can you tell us what you are doing to try and open in PS and any error messages. This should be straight forward and achieved by ctrl-e if you have set up the external editor options correctly. I'm opening an edited raw file from LR2 into photoshop. No error message...photoshop opens then nothing else happens...the file doesn't open in photoshop. If photoshop is already open then nothing happens. I've tried opening via the shortcut (cnt + E) and also using the right click opn the mouse...neither work.

Now I am sure there is an answer for this but I can't recall at the moment. I'm sure someone else will chip in before long too help!!

just thinking this worked fine before i updated LR2...is there any way of down-dating it back to version 2.'?

Try downloading and installing The Camera Raw 5.4 Release Candidate. MAybe an update/new install of ACR will help this situation.

Or try reinstalling PSCS4.

Tried ACR 5.4 update and no difference...will try re-installing later...it just takes bloody ages...

realised LR2 needed updating...it's working now!! hooray!
