i'm having a problem with LR2, for some reason, it won't import the images i want into the catalog from the file path copied onto my mac HD. but when i tell it to import into lightroom from the backup files created on my external HD, it works fine and they are imported.

sorry if this has already been posted and answered, i searched for a while and couldn't find anything.

please help!
thanks.

Welcome Matt, can you explain in more detail what you are doing? Such as importing from a card?
To help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature in the "userCP' that is found at the top left of the page - thanks.

after taking the CF out of my d3'', i'm putting them right into the CF card-reader that's plugged into my mac. it copys them fine to my mac HD and my external HD (backup). but for some reason, the import will not show up at all in lightroom2, but this only occurs when the import filepath is from the mac HD that i copied the DNG files to.

when i try to use the external HD as the file path for the import into lightroom, the images import fine and show up.

any idea?

Weird one that Matt. The only suggestion I have is to try the 2.1RC and see if that works.

ahh it didn't work :(
hopefully i'll figure this out. if it really comes to my last resort, i guess i can put the 'back ups' on the mac HD and use that as the catalogs file path, and have all of the .dng copys on my external :|

OK Matt as we say bugger!!
Can you put up a screen shot of your import dialog please. Put your card in the reader and grab a shot of the import screen.
Cheers and it's a nice sunny spring Saturday afternoon here !!:lol:

Matt, welcome.

I've just had a look at your screenshot, and spotted something. Lightroom doesn't think it can find any of your folders on Mac HD, and that may explain why your newly imported photos never appear. Try right-clicking (cmd-clicking) on those question mark folders in the Folders panel and choosing Locate Missing Folder or Update Folder Location, and make sure it's pointing to the right place. I'd take a fair bet everything will then be back to normal with your imports.
