This might just be me but......

When in Library mode, if I click on All Photographs it displays all my photos in chronological order, oldest at the bottom and the most recent at the top.

Soooo, last night I scanned some negs and imported into LR2, all ok, all metadata, dates and times etc seem ok but when viewing "all photographs" in library mode, it seems to stick these at the bottom of the list but as they are in theory a new photo, shouldnt it be at the top in the correct order?

Thanks in advance 8)

James, two things to check:

1) What sort order are using in Library?
2) I don't believe LR is sorting on the OS filedate, but by the Exif Capture Date. Is your scanning s/w placing an entry in the Exif Capure Date metadata field? You can have a look at that in the Metadata section at the bottom of the Right Hand Panel. You may have to adjust the Metadata fields displayed, by selecting Exif or All from the drop down list on the Metadata panel header.

I believe that I've had to tweak that field by hand on my scanned images, using generic scanning software. You can access that ability by selecting the image(s) and Library menu > Metadata > Edit Capture Time ....

I was thinking exactly the same - chronological is based on capture time, and if there isn't a capture time, it's just tucks them on the end, although I can't remember whether it assumes 19'' or today's date. Why not try editing the capture time on those and see if that helps.
