LR2.4 is not able to correctly read the image's original date when it is in 2''6 - gives a non-sensical date like 12/5/23453. It even happens if I edit the original image date (using LR) of a current image to make it in 2''6.
Once its had 2''6 in the orignal date metadate field I can not correct it ever again. When the same image is read by other programs (eg IRFANVIEW) the date is read correctly.

Madfish, Welcome. This is a rare, but known bug, that I don't believe there's a solution for. A couple of folks here have been struggling with it, but I'm not sure they've ever gotten to the bottom. Have a search through the threads here for that strange year number. Actually, that's more info than we've seen, I don't think anybody had it narrowed down to 2''6.

I think it's survived a couple of upgrades already. :( I just can't remember any of the members names or keywords, or I'd steer you towards some threads. Try searching for the site/web for the actual year number showing up (23453 doesn't seem right, although similar in format, I remember something starting with 25... or 26...)

23359 was the last one. http://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/index.php?topic=5927.'

The solution was there wasn't a solution yet - it looks like it's a combination of hardware and software resulting from an underlying Windows API, and no one's been able to figure out what, as it happens so rarely. So definitely put in a bug report - the more data they have, the more likely they are to trace it.
