LR 2.' and CS2 on a HP Laptop with 2GB ram, Win XP. Great machine for me so far.

When making local edit with the adjustment brush and export as any file format, jpg..tiff..psd I get an unable to close error from CS2 when saving the file.

If I don't use the adjustment brush, but make other adjustments in LR I'm fine. Only errors when I use the local adjustment brush.

Any thoughts? Adobe's way of telling me to upgrade to CS3?

After making the adjustment did you close the 'Local corrections' part of the develop module? LR generally runs slower with this open so I would imagine this might make a difference when editing in external application.

It's a bug that was unfortunately discovered just after release, and appears to only affect CS2.

Workarounds until it's fixed...

Use Export and check 'minimize embedded metadata' to strip all of the metadata, or use Jeffrey's Metadata Wrangler to strip just the XMP "crs" block.

It's the Local Adjustments metadata it doesn't like.

Victoria, you are correct and your method has gotten me through. I sincerely hope Adobe addresses this issue.

I'm not a big fan of e-books but would love to read a nice paperback version of your LR2 book...

Paperback's a work in progress Tim - final proof should be here any day now.
