Hello,
I will upgrade my pc with more ram (8GB) and Windows 7 prof. 64 bit.
Are there any traps concerning the installation of LR and PS CS3? For LR, I have the original V1 CD and all upgrades as downloads only. So I think, I can install the latest version 2.6 from the download (which includes 32 and 64 bit) and somwhere the installer will ask for the serial number, right?
And what about Photoshop CS3? Is the 64-bit-version included in the installation cd? Do I have to download something? Or do I need to buy something like a 64-bit-upgrade?

Thanks,
Thomas

For Lr, If you purchased 2.x outright, you will only need the latest trial version, and your 2.x serial #. If you purchased 2.x as an 'upgrade', you will need both the 1.x and 2.x serial numbers.

PS, I believe you have to 'de-authorize', or some similar sounding operation, to release your serial # from the existing installation. It's on the menus, somewhere. I don't believe PSCS3 is available in 64bit. 64 bit is available in CS4, and for Windows only, not Mac.

Hi Brad,

thanks for the infos. Yes, I will stick a post-it on the computer to remind me on the de-register-thing for PS before formatting the harddisk :-)
I found a good article from Adobe: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/4'1/kb4'1'88.html
Under the paragraph "Allocating memory above 2 GB with 64-bit processors" it is explained, how CS3 as 32-bit-software gains benefit from a 64-bit-windows with more ram.
