When I am exporting my WEB gallery Lightroom2.2 locks up, it gets to the last 5 or 6 images and locks up. Not all the time mind you, sometimes it completes normally and lets me know that some images weren’t exported because they are no longer there. But if you save the contents of the error message, you can copy the path and image name paste them in to the start|run command line and Camera Raw 5.2 will open and the proper image will be there (the missing one), so the image is there.

There are no problems ever working on the image and adjusting them, they are like any other image in LR2.2. I have tried restoring all the images in that folder from a backup, and it still does it. I restored all the images to a new folder then renamed the original fold to &#822';bad” and renamed the new folder to the original folder name. I have tried to export from the collections, and from the Local Disk. Sometimes when it completes, there are 5 images that don’t export, other times it is 6 images, and then the next time we might be back to 5 images. Also, as we go through the export process I notice that memory utilization is through the roof (very high), every time an image is exported and LR2.2 releases some resources, it never releases all of them until the export is done. I have seen LR2.2 using 1.5 GB of memory.

So far, this seems to only be related to this one collection of images, I had no problems export images before these, and I have been able to export images from other collections with no problems. I have also tired using different engines, and that didn’t help either. I also copied all of my images to another drive and deleted them from the original and I showed LR2.2 where the folders where, it put all the images right back where they were, correct numbers of images in folders, everything looked fine, and I attempted the export, and had the same problem.

I should also point out that I have already exported this gallery once over a month ago with no problems, but I have made some changes to the gallery, and need to export it again.

Here is a copy of the error message; "Original image file is missing : &#822';C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\My Documents\My Pictures\Pictures\2''8\12-2'-2''8\DSC_1396.NEF”"

Welcome to this side, to help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature in the "userCP' that is found in the nav-bar at the top left of the page - thanks.

Done, thank you Geoff.

Eric,

First, there's a number of generic Trouble Shooting steps.

Secondly, perhaps try to divide and conquer to help isolate the problem. Export that specific collection as separate catalog, and try working with that smaller set.

Thirdly, consider the 2.3 Release Candidate which does address some export memory usage issues (of which web creation is a kind of specialized subset)

As Geoff suggested elsewhere, I upgraded to 2.3, and that fixed the problem. I have exported 3 times now just to be sure, even added extra images to the export, and it worked with no problems. I also monitored the memory, and they really did plug that memory leak. Wow, what was pushing 1.5 GB is now staying at less then 5''K Meg. Out stand job of releasing resources I must say. Thank you everyone.

Seems like a nice bunch of folks you got over here, I might just hang around a bit, looks like there is a lot of learning that can be done over here.

Thank again.

Nice one Eric, thanks for the update.......... what a great team of engineers to have working for us!!;);)
