I have a query -and I don't honestly know whether it's been raised before in these pages, or if it troubles anyone else.

I keep my pictures in the 'My Pictures' folder on my computer (they are also backed up on an external HD). The majority of them are in individual folders, but a few of them are, shall we say, isolated pictures that are not in a folder within 'My Pictures'. I'm sure that's a not uncommon practice.

This is my problem - when I open 'My Pictures' (which resides in the 'My Documents' folder), I can see all the sub folders as well as all the 'isolated' pictures. However, if I open 'My Pictures' in Lightroom, I see every picture - and not the individual folders. If I am looking for one of the 'isolated' pictures, it is very easy with the My Documents/My Pictures method, as everything is laid out with folders and 'isolated' pictures. If, though, I want to look for that 'isolated' picture in Lightroom, I have to look at all the pictures with 'My Pictures'.

Is there any way of displaying in Lightroom those pictures that are in the 'My Pictures' folder but not in a sub-folder?

(I've tried to explain that the best I could - I hope I have succeeded!)

Roy, If I understand the problem, in the Library Module menu > Library > about halfway down the list, see if 'Include Photos from Subfolders' is checked. If so, uncheck it.
