Hey all,

Let me start with my computer...iMac 21.5, 3.'6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce 94''M card.
Next, software...Lightroom Version 2.5 (Camera Raw 5.5, 64-bit).

Problem...
1. Click on graduated filter.
2. Click and drag filter inside of the picture.
3. Lightroom becomes unresponsive (I see the Apple spinning wait cursor) and does not recover.

This has happened a few times. The first time this happened I waited over twenty minutes before forcing the program to quit. Occasionally, I have pressed shift (to constrain the angle of the filter), but that's about it. When I restart the program all edits except for the graduated filter edit are still there.

I have looked around and based on my research Lightroom 2.2 resolved the nVidia card problems, so I am at a bit of a loss. Maybe I'm doing something wrong (completely possible). Can anyone help?

Gracias!

Hi g, welcome to the forum!

Great first post, lots of information is really helpful. Couple of other questions then:

1. What camera?
2. Tried the 2.6 RC available from http://labs.adobe.com ?
3. Definitely only got one file selected, rather than lots of files and AutoSync turned on?
4. Have you tried trashing the preferences, and is it specific to one catalog or file, or does it happen everywhere?

Hi Victoria!

Thank you so much for your quick response!

1. I have a Nikon D9'

2. I bought Lr from Amazon about 2 weeks ago and I downloaded all updates (I just checked for updates and Lr tells me that there are no updates available at this time). I am not sure what 2.6 RC is, though (oh...do you mean Lightroom version 2.6? Do I need to do that if the 2.5 is completely up to date?).

3. I am pretty sure that I'm only working on one file. I'm a new Lr user and have avoided using any synching (although it is possible that I accidentally clicked on synch...but I should get a synch dialog, uh, I think).

4. I am not sure how to trash the preferences. I followed along with a book I bought regarding setting up preferences (by an organization called D-65 - http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-Lightroom-Workbook-Workflow-Workslow/dp/'24'81'678).

5. Per the book, I only have one catalog and am trying to use the folder and collection functionality of Lr.

6. This problem is frustratingly intermittent (not frustrated with the program...just with the fact I can't replicate the problem when I need to...like right now...but it occurs when I don't want it to).

BTW, I love the program so far, and I'm very grateful for this resource.

Thanks again,
g
