LR starts up unasked!

I have just installed a new printer and every time I switch it on, Lightroom opens. Is there any way I can prevent this happening while, at the same time, preserving the facility for LR to open when it detects a memory card? Thanks in advance for your help.

I think James is probably spot on, in which case I'd either leave the printer on, or see if you can find a way to disable to card reader in the printer. But no, unfortunately you can't be selective about which ones to auto-start - it's either on or off.

James seems to have hit the nail on the head. The printer does indeed have a built-in card reader. Ah well..... Thank you both for your help anyway.
