Mod note, fixed tiny typo in web link

Is LR compatible with third party focus sites?

I use http://www.focusmagic.com when I resize an image for the web. Focus magic does the tack sharp extreme for me. Has anyone else had good results, it works in PSE5 editor. But now I'm just using LR, does anyone see a problem? Any thoughts would be great? I am openned minded to a point. Someone told me recently about my golfing, that I should lay off for six months or so and then...give it up all together! haha! So I sold my golf clubs to buy lr. hah!

Vegas, I have no idea about this product but it looks interesting.
You may be able to set it up as one of the external editors from LR but I have no idea how the application works so can't help you more, so it's a maybe!! LOL

Howdy Kiwigeoff,

Okay, I discovered this through Nikonians...I'm a paid member there. When I resized an image for the web, focus was off just a fraction. This program puts the tack back in. The program is from New Zealand and it costs $45. And that is for the life time that you use it. I have changed from laptop to desktop, have taken it off and re-installed it with no problems ever. All up dates are free. The program is awesome. I have web photos that I shoot for fun mostly on http://www.desertusa.com/dustytrails. There I have nearly 1''' images of flowers 1:1, camping locations, etc because I love the desert. If you want to check it out. I have scanned the program and continue to scan the program daily with McAfee Security & Webroot which I have on my machine and have never had a problem with it. Incidently, I haven't been on Nikonians recently, because they turned their noses on me when I told them I was buying Cannon instead of more Nikon lenses. Somedays I like shootin' Nikon and on others I shoot Cannon. Nikonians are prima donnas and I'm a prima donna with large format film only!

Very interesting Mr Vegas, will give them a call and say hello...

Yeah, I've used it in the past for really dodgy focus, and it works ok. I just wish they'd hurry up and make the universal binary version - they've been promising it for a good couple of years now.

I am honored that you have used this program too. But in your own guru lifestyle how does it compare to LR in terms of sharpenning. Usually for me I have better success with lr. But I shoot wildflowers and wildlife not people.

It's 'different' is the only way I can describe it. Certainly for really blurry pictures, it does a better job of pulling out the detail. It's not originally designed to apply to every single photo though, and considering it's not quick, I wouldn't fancy using it for everything. YMMV

Howdy Victoria,
That's a very good point. I do like using the sharpenning features in lr cause I have more control. Thanks for sharing!
