One can always learn something new...I am new around here, can't tell if you have already discussed it, but today I stumbled upon this video about "SSD Overprovisioning", which could be LR related.

This has been discussed. Can't remember where. It isn't a LR matter as such, SSDs have a limited life per memory location (newer ones are much better than older ones), over provisioning ensures that the wear is more evenly distributed. Different technologies wear out at different rates. The Samsung Pro range stores two possible values per location (0 or 1), the Evo range stores three values ie an Evo stores three bits in two locations, thus Evos wear out more quickly than Pros and come with a shorter warranty as a result, but are cheaper.
