Hello, I have a LR subscription, NOT cloud based on my iMac. I have one catalog that opens by default, that is perfect for me.
I just bought a MacBook and would like to put LR, NOT cloud based on it also. When I install LR on the NEW MacBook will it make a new catalog to be accessed from it only?
I don't need to access the pics in the iMac catalog on the MacBook. So basically two different computers and two different catalogs would be ideal! I would like each computer to open the catalog automatically for each computer. Is this possible? thanks Becky

That will work just fine.
thank you! that was a the answer I needed! :) I just want to make sure I understand, I can put LR NOT cloud based on the NEW MacBook and it will have a new catalog on it that I do not have on the old iMac? they will not get all messed up and confused (for lack of a better word)? Neither one knows the other exists correct??:)

To explain the license further. You can install Lightroom Classic on many computers. But you can only have an active license on two at a time. (I.e. your iMac and your MBP.) if you wish to install and activate Lightroom Classic on a third computer, you will need to de activate on one of the other two. This knowledge will come in handy if you get a new computer and need to decommission Lightroom Classic on the old one.

Thank you, I did see this, it showed my old 2011 iMac that I never use it on, but it was still installed on it. I just need to setup where my pics will be stored on the new MacBook. I wish I knew I needed to do that! I hope it will not mess up the new catalog once I set that up.

Becky,

I know you keep sayng "Not Cloud", but in case others read this thread later on, I want add one more point. Only one of the catalogs can be set to sync with the Cloud based apps.
