Hello,

I have tried and tried to import a catalog into LR, but it hangs up on "checking for duplicates" even if I leave it running all night, no success.

So, I went onto my desktop and created "new catalog", imported the catalog I was first trying to import and it worked.

Now my question is, what do I need to keep and what do I delete? This new catalog is a duplicate of my old catalog. Since I couldn't import a catalog into the "old" catalog, but was successful after making a new catalog, I don't want to keep both, but I have no clue on what to keep...

Thank you....

Will the new catalog you created as a test import into your destination catalog?

I have made a "new catalog" folder and directed the location for LR to there. Imported all catalogs into this new catalog that I created. I backed up that catalog to have a backup in this same (new catalog) folder under backups. Previously, I had LR Main Catalog which was the location before (location = general tab in catalog settings) and had a separate folder on same drive for LR Catalog Backups (backup catalog upon starting LR). So I was wondering if could now delete the LR Main Catalog and the LR Catalog Backups folders?

You kind of lost me with your question which I why I re-explained myself. Sorry...

Does your 'new catalog' include everything you want to keep? Including Develop settings, etc?
