LR date time

Hi!
There are three differently titled date time stamps in LR Library mode metadata panel (Date Time, Original and Digitized) and all these show the same (capture time) regardless what I do to the Canon CR2 files (conwert to DNG after import, edit in LR without exporting them...). After reading some LRguides (S. Gelby, M. Evening) I think they should behave differently. Or have I misunderstood something here?

These are EXIF time stamps from the camera. Only the Date Time has a function in LR as you can sort with that field.

That didn't sound right and just done a check. LR sorts by Capture time for which it uses Date time original

I did mean usable/sortable in the metadata panel. (Date Time Original)

Not any big deal, just wondering why three times the same date and time with different names. If I export and then import back to LR then the new copy gets a new Date Time. Others remain the same. Non of them changes if I convert to DNG, though Evening in his "Photoshop LIghtroom 2 Book" (s. 131) says it should now reflect the modification time.
LR is full of this kind of little tiny finesses. Others are working like they have thought to work, some propably never will, at least on all hardware-software-OS combinations.
