When I try to email a photo using the "email photo" option.....I get a message that they "failed to connect with the outgoing server." And, I get a message from Google saying that an insecure app tried to sign in to my account.

Is there a safe way to fix this??? thanks

I just ran into 'less secure app access' yesterday in a different circumstance. Google detects whether a 'less secure' app is trying to access your account. I think by default, allowing less secure apps is turned on. You can turn it off if you want.

However, that may not be the real problem. Here's some troubleshooting steps. Further Googling may reveal more.

Google uses 2 factor Authentication. You need to set up Lightroom as an approved 2 factor authenticated app in Google settings.

The message from Google saying that an insecure app tried to sign in to my account suggests that it is active.

Cletus, I just had to solved the 'insecure app' issue configuring a relatives iPad access GMAIL. Same message. She didn't have 2FA but did have the disable access from insecure apps set. Have a look at the links.
