This is really odd - for the last couple of days LR has been acting odd. Odd like...

  • telling me it has missing images then using the Show in Browser option, it shows me exactly where the file is.
  • it only happens with DNG files
  • the file reverts to how it looked at import and effectively loses any changes I've made since uploading
  • it's not giving me the ? mark to reacquaint the file with the missing indicator
  • Many files when I move from the Library to the Develop module dramatically change shape. by this I mean a shot of a thin person for example will be blown sideways (landscape image) so the everything looks bloated; in portrait everything gets squashed.
What is going on? This is really frustrating.

Thanks

Oh! And I have optimised the catalogue and restart LR several times in the hope that it would resolve the issue - but it hasn't.

Are you saving the metadata either with cmd-s or autowrite?

Hi Geoff

It's set to Autowrite.

I've sorted it for now although the 'sorted it' was horribly long winded. I opened each of the offending DNG files that either bloated or squeezed but from the Library module where the image looked fine then immediately saved that back into LR.

What a pain in the bum and I really don't want that to happen again although I've just had a response from LR saying that one of the images has a sidecar missing - it seems that there's another error appearing everyday now...frustrating to say the least.

You seem to be getting a lot of problems Paul, do you like solving them??:cheesy::cheesy::shock:
Maybe there is something about your system that tests the sensitivity of LR, leased your sorted for now though!!
Saying that I have none of these sorts of issues.
