LR as a browser sucks - in Grid mode

..not only when compared with a real browser- but also it's main opposition.
I have fairly decent equipment - Mac and PC but on both get the fuzzy thumbnails in grid. This makes it almost usesless, and I often end up going to full screen mode because it's easier on the eye to scroll through full size images than to scroll through unsharp thumbnails. What gives here? Aperture can do this perfectly.
Give us a decent BROWSER please!

Render Standard Previews quantum, and the thumbnails will unfuzz almost immediately. Select the files and go to Library menu > Previews > Render Standard Previews.

I can't believe you think I hadn't already tried this Victoria. I have been using LR since 1.'. Nothing has improved, in fact it's got worse. The previews constantly seem to want to be refreshed - why is this. I can scroll down the pages watching them slowly unfuzz. Then scroll up and werhay! They're fuzzy again. A little over simplified but basically that's what I see. On different computers Mac and PC.

Yes, I'd agree the thumbnail caching could do with some work. Have you tried the 2.' beta yet? Feels a bit better to me.

When I build previews LR still seems to need me to actually view the image either in grid or loupe mode before it does some of the work - the image is first displayed fuzzy. Shouldn't this have been made sharp when I asked LR to build the previews? Can this be posted as a bug somewhere (I'm sure it has but I think it needs pressing home).
This is the single feature that makes LR an unusable product in a professional environment. The trouble seems to compound itself as the database gets bigger, and dare I say as LR has developed. It was less of an issue in 1.' than 1.4. I will have another look at 2.' in the meantime. But as I keep saying, I am sooo envious of my friend's Aperture, as he doesn't have the same issues. I am right in saying Aperture works as a database same as LR, aren't I? So why the difference? LR needs to have a more browser like feature. I have posted elsewhere that I now use 2 or 3 pieces of software (inc. Breezebrowser and Pixort) where LR should be able to do all.
My routine is to sort the keepers outside LR before importing as I can't see a reason to database images I know I won't keep.

At the start much was made of LR's features to select and compare and sort. LR for me is only viable for RAW adjustment and conversions.

I believe it's partly down the thumbnail caching, and perhaps someone else will be able to confirm that. Either way, add your voice via the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Form
