Hi

Iam using LR to prepare image for a A5 magazine that Iam producing using InDesign. The web offset company have advised all images should be at 3''ppi and CMYB.

Iam trying to understand what size I should save each image as Iam sure resizing each image in InDesgin will mess with the ppi?

Hello Richard.

Lightroom does not export to CMYK, so you'll have convert your exported image to CMYK in Photoshop or equivalent.

As for the size of the image, this is very easy to determine. When you open the export dialog in Lightroom, look under the `image sizing` section. You will set the resolution to 3'' pixels per inch and check the box `resize to fit`. For the dimensions of the resized image, just type in the size that you want the image to print.

If your layout in inDesign calls for a 4' x 5' image, then export from lightroom at a size of 4' x 5' @ 3'' ppi. If you change your layout in inDesign and you need a different sized image, re-export the image at the new size.
