  • 25 June 2024 It's Lightroom update time again! See What’s New in Lightroom Classic 13.4, Mobile & Desktop (June 2024)? for the bug fixes and new lens profiles. Warning... this is a minor dot release and does NOT fix some of the bugs introduced in 13.3, so if you reverted to 13.2 due to bugs (e.g. sync issues), we'd suggest you stay there for now.

In LR 7.3, is the Group into Stack functionality not operational. For me, this command is not working - it is grayed out. I have moved the folder to be the parent folder and it still doesn't work. Is there a Preferences setting thats possibly causing this behavior?

Are you using the right-click menu? There's some issues with that in this release, the main menu or keyboard shortcut should work.

Unfortunately the keyboard shortcut doesn't work either. Nor does Menu/Edit/Stacks. I've updated Lr to LR 7.4.1 and still the same issue (i.e. Stack is grayed out).

Ok, show us a screenshot so we can possibly spot the cause

I have the same issue. MacOS Sonoma 14.5, M1 Mac Mini. Lightroom Classic 13.4.
Stacking photos works highly erratically. If I keep pressing Cmd+G, it may eventually take it. The menu option is greyed out. It is rather frustrating, as it is currently unusable to boost productivity. I tried in a folder, I also tried in a collection. The behaviour is the same regardless of the window state.

Welcome to the forum @inhuszar. As noted above, there's a bug with the right-click menu in the current release. The keyboard shortcut should work though... is it busy syncing when it doesn't seem to work?

Thanks for your quick reply, Victoria. Yes, it was generating smart previews for photos that were imported to an external hard disk. I transferred the images to an SSD, let the preview building finish, then I restarted everything and to my surprise, stacking started to work normally again. :)
