I recently upgraded from LR6.7 to LR6.8, which has turned out to be a disaster. Since LR6.8 was very buggy on my Mac, running OS Sierra. I decide to uninstall LR with the LR uninstaller with a view to rolling back to LR6.7.

For some reason, I am now not able to install LR6. I get the attached error message, which is useless. I have tried to contact customer services, but one just gets shunted through the Adobe website. Does anyone know why I would not be able to reinstall LR6? or how I can get hold of Adobe support?

Resolve! I finally manage to obtain assistance from the Adobe and we spent literally hours uninstalling und installing Adobe software. Bravo to the support technician for patience and perseverance!

I'm curious how this was resolved? Was it something specific? Or just installing/re-installing numerous times?

We ultimately had to uninstall all my Adobe software, along with the support files in the Library. We had to delete certain file found by the Adobe Application Manger. There were a few twist and turn and then we were able to reinstall. I am running in 5.7 at the moment, because I don't have the courage to go to 5.8 again.

So, basically all the supporting files and cache files?

Yeah, I'm still running 5.7 at this time too. I Usually wait for a few bug release updates before upgrading. I'll definitely skip 5.8 for now. Sounds like too much of a headache to "nuke" adobe from my system. :)

Would you guys mind clarifying your actual Lightroom version, as it could be confusing for others looking in. I guess you mean to say that you are both running 6.7 (not 5.7) and are hesitant to upgrade to 6.8 (not 5.8), yes?
