LR 2.7 camera profiles

We are running LR2.7 and just downloaded the Nikon D3-D7'' v2 camera profiles. We can see all the new profiles when working on D3 NEF files but they are not listed when we work on D3S NEF files. Will there have to be another version to support D3S files or can these be made to work?

Also, is there a good, straightforward tutorial somewhere on creating and installing our own camera profiles? I've searched but am even more confused now than before.

The D3S already has the new profiles. The new D3 and D7'' profiles use the same techniques as the existing D3S profiles.

There are no updated D3S profiles because the standard D3S already use the new tricks that the updated D7''/D3 profiles use.

In other words -- after the initial D3/D7'' profiles shipped, but before the D3S profiles shipped, they adjusted the way the profiles are developed. The D3S profiles use the new way already. There's no update needed.

D700, LR 2.7 camera profiles: why not listed

I have a D7''. Why don't D7'' camera profiles (ver 2.7) display under Camera Calibration listed as D7''. It only shows Camera D2X, Camera Neutral, etc. See attached

All the profiles you can see there are for the D7'' Reid - it's Nikon's daft naming convention, that they named some of their picture styles with the same name as one of their camera models.

A lot of people liked the old D2X renderings so Nikon has kept them on in Capture NX for other cameras. I wish in some ways they had renamed them so it wasn't so confusing. If they called them Legacy1, Legacy2 etc... it would have been far better.....
